Spring Arrives At The Highbury Centre
Spring is in the air – the snowdrops have given way to daffodils and the first pale green leaves and shoots are unfurling. Here at The Highbury Centre, we’re incredibly fortunate to be located in a leafy and tranquil street with plenty of green space around us. Our lovely back garden is full of exuberant activity, from birds flying from tree to tree and letting out joyful springtime song, to bulbs bursting into life. Just a few minutes’ walk up the road, the vast expanse of Highbury Fields is also full of springtime scents, colours and sounds.
Our visitors really appreciate being able to enjoy their breakfast with views of our garden. Last year’s very hot summer meant that the cool outdoor space was a blessing, as one of our guests recently told us. “The rose-filled walled garden and the children’s play area are great assets which were oh-so-welcome during the recent heatwave.”
With the beautiful park space of Highbury Fields only five minutes’ walk away, it’s easy to get out and have a stroll, do some exercise or just relax on a bench soaking up the peace and quiet. Look up and you might be lucky enough to spot the blue and green flashes of parrots in the very top of the trees. You’re not seeing things – there is a sizeable parrot community in this part of London, originally formed from former domestic pets who have flown the nest!
Rooms at the back of the Highbury Centre enjoy views of our large garden, full of shrubs, trees and plants. As the weather gets warmer, our younger guests love to have a game of hide and seek and to use the play equipment. Bearing in mind our Central London location, many of our visitors are pleasantly surprised to find that we have such a beautiful garden for them to enjoy.
As spring starts to give way to summer, we look forward to welcoming many more guests to our beautiful and peaceful location, surrounded by inviting green spaces.
