Our Guide to Christmas Services and Events

As the temperature drops, Advent calendars appear, Christmas trees are decorated and lights switched on, our corner of North London has plenty going on. Here at the Highbury Centre, there’s nothing we love more than giving our guests a stress-free and enjoyable stay.

One of the ways we do this is by signposting you to all the Christmas services and events which are running over the festive season. Rather than spending your precious time trawling through websites to find out what’s on where, relax and let us do the leg work.

So here it is, The Highbury Centre’s Guide to Christmas Services and Events. Enjoy!

At Christchurch Highbury, a few minutes’ walk down the road from us, it’s a particularly musical Christmas. On Friday 6th December, acclaimed jazz singer Lara Eidi will be in concert, if you'd like to book tickets see here.  On Wednesday 11th December, there will be a rousing Carols Round The Clocktower at Christchurch, starting at 6.30pm and accompanied by a brass quartet. The annual Carol Service takes place on Sunday 15th December at 7.30pm. For all other services in December, see here

The five congregations of the Islington and Camden Circuit churches meet in North London. They are: Islington Methodist, Archway Methodist, Caledonian Road Methodist, Camden Town Methodist and Epworth at Euston. Details of their carol services, Advent Crown and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services can be found here

Just over a mile away at Hope Church in Islington, there is also lots going on. On Sunday 15th December, they have not one but two Carols by Candlelight, the first at 4pm and the second at 6.30pm. There’s a Crib Service on Christmas Eve at 4 pm with Midnight Mass starting at 11.30pm. Their Christmas Day service starts at 10.30 am. Hope Church meets at two sites, so check their website before setting out:

On Saturday 21st December, there is an evening of praise, worship and prophecy at KingsWord International Church (Greenwich), SE7 8LX, running from 5.30-9.00pm. Click here to find out more.

We wish all our guests, past, present and future, a very merry and blessed Christmas.
