If you are a full-time worker of a Protestant Christian organisation, you are eligible for our discounted room rates. For those that are not directly working for a Christian organisation, please refer to the guest rates tab below.

Missionary/Christian worker rate eligibility

These room rates are available to those who meet the following criteria:

  • Adhere to the Protestant Evangelical faith and are
    1. Employed full time by a Protestant Evangelical church, missionary, evangelistic, ecumenical, educational or outreach organisation.
    2. Staying at the Centre in the context of a Protestant Evangelical church, or missionary, evangelistic, ecumenical, educational or outreach activity.
  • Can provide details of the organisation that you work for and the position you hold.

Bursary Fund

The Highbury Centre can potentially offer a bursary towards the cost of your stay with us to qualifying participants. This will consist of a 10-50% discount off the listed price of lodging at The Highbury Centre with a maximum of £500pp p/a. This support is only available to those looking to stay in standard accommodation.

For an application to be approved, a qualifying participant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • They stay or seek to stay at the Highbury Centre in order to participate in a qualifying event.
    They live in or are a national of a low, lower-middle or upper-middle income country as defined by the World Bank and published on its website.
  • They declare the financial support from the Bursary Fund is decisive for their ability to participate in the Qualifying Event.

A qualifying event, (a meeting, conference, seminar or otherwise) must meet all of the following criteria:

  • The event aims to equip participants for their gospel ministry and seeks to encourage cooperation and unity among Christian believers
  • The event’s theological foundations are in line with the basis of faith of the Evangelical Alliance as stated here
  • The event either takes place at or within reasonable distance from The Highbury Centre.

Disbursement Policy
Applications for support from the Bursary Fund are must be submitted prior to or at the same time as the reservation/booking.

A discount shall only become final if the remaining balances due to the Highbury Centre have been settled in a timely manner.

Such discount will be charged to the Bursary Fund and can only be granted if it has sufficient funds available.

The management shall decide whether the an application is approved and what percentage discount will be made available from the Bursary Fund. Should applicants of the same qualifying event apply for the support, and where this would amount to more than £2,500 the Chairman of the Board of Trustees will be consulted.
