Places of Worship: The Potters House, Kilburn

“What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.” 1 Corinthians 14:26.

The Bible often reminds us of the importance of meeting together with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Here at the Highbury Centre, as well as offering welcoming and affordable Christian accommodation, it’s important to us to add value to our guests’ stay and one way in which we do this is to signpost them to various churches.

The Potter’s House in Kilburn, North West London, is a manageable journey from Aberdeen Park where our Christian guesthouse is located. The church meets at a modernised 19th century school on West End Lane, now owned by the London Diocesan Board. Kilburn Park on the Bakerloo line or West Hampstead on the Jubilee Line are both a 5-minute walk from the venue. If you hop on the London Overground at Highbury and Islington station (10 minutes’ walk from the Highbury Centre through beautiful Highbury Fields) and head for West Hampstead, you should be there in 20 minutes. It’s then a 5-minute stroll to the Tube station and another 5 minutes to the church. Alternatively, get on the London Overground to Brondesbury Station (20 minutes) then it’s a 6-minute walk to Kilburn Underground and 5 minutes on to the venue.

The Potter’s House is a lively, welcoming and vibrant church community. With two Sunday services (11am and 6pm), plus a prayer and Bible study at 7pm on Thursdays, there is something for everyone.

If you fancy lunch or a coffee and snack after church, there are plenty of places nearby. It’s a wonderful place to have a wander and drink in the sights and sounds.
