Meeting a Group From the USA - the Roberts Wesleyan College
At The Highbury Centre, we love welcoming individuals and groups to our comfortable and affordable Christian guesthouse. A group booking is five rooms or more. We make it as easy as possible for groups to arrange their stay with us, organising dinner if required and giving them the option of booking our two spacious meeting rooms on an hourly basis.
We’re always delighted when a group decides to return more than once and that’s been the case with the lovely people from the Roberts Wesleyan College of Rochester, NY, USA. Their Department of Music and Performing Arts organises a London trip every other year with the aim of exposing the students to the vast and diverse culture and events which the capital has to offer. Over the past ten years, a group of students from Roberts Wesleyan has stayed with us five times.
Feedback from our American guests is always extremely positive. They find our bedrooms pleasant, clean and comfortable, with adequate storage space and good lighting. They love being able to make a cup of tea or coffee whenever they like. The hot buffet breakfast is a great way to start the day and they enjoy relaxing in the lounge at the end of the day to debrief and chat. Like all our guests, they benefit from our free high speed wifi, vital for keeping in touch with home. Our beautiful walled garden is a favourite spot for rest and contemplation – they especially love the roses. Our laundry area is much appreciated too, as is the facility to print documents if need be.
Our tranquil North London location is quiet, safe and beautiful. Students from Roberts Wesleyan love strolling through Highbury Fields and find the nearby transport links extremely useful and convenient.
Students are free to attend the church of their choice and on any one Sunday, there will be groups attending three or four different churches locally. Usually a handful of students will attend Christ Church, Highbury, the "home church" of one of the College’s leaders when in London. There is plenty of choice so that everyone can find the place of worship which suits them.
We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service at The Highbury Centre, something which the Roberts Wesleyan students particularly appreciate. When one of their leaders had to have an emergency appendectomy during their stay, the office staff were helpful and caring, and made sure that everything needed for a speedy recovery was available.
One of the many reasons that groups from Roberts Wesleyan return to the Highbury Centre is that it is affordable for their students, most unusual for such a well-placed location in the capital. However, that is only one reason. Their lovely feedback to us was that our mission, to serve God and others, is evident to them in many ways and makes their stay pleasant and meaningful.
