Back in 1893 when the Foreign Missions Club was formed, one of the key goals was to offer missionaries a comfortable, safe and friendly place to stay in London. 125 years on, now known as The Highbury Centre, we’re still doing just that.

Located in a quiet street a short walk away from the beautiful green space of Highbury Fields, we offer comfortable accommodation for Christian workers visiting London, whether alone, with family or friends. We’re always encouraged to know what our visitors think about their experience, and it’s good to hear their positive comments.

“The neighbourhood was quiet and felt very safe. My daughter and I shared a room, and my husband and two sons shared an en-suite. Both were simple, comfortable, and clean. My daughter and I used a shared hall bathroom that was large and very clean, plenty of hot water, very satisfactory.”

The staff at the Highbury Centre work hard to provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, something which is often picked up on by our valued guests:

“The staff on reception are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well kept. We were in accommodation with shared bathroom facilities which was also very well kept.”

Even though we occupy a relatively central position in the capital, our visitors often comment on the tranquil surroundings, very unusual for such a central location. “What a lovely place in a very quiet street, green area. The room was basic, as expected, very clean.”

Peace, quiet and solitude are a blessing to our guests, especially those who have recently returned from overseas mission. We try to think of everything to make their stay comfortable, including a kettle in all rooms for that quiet cup of tea. “A very, very reasonably priced place. The rooms are small but clean and have all you really need. I liked the kettle in the rooms too.”

At the Highbury Centre, we pride ourselves on offering comfortable and affordable rooms. The last word goes to a recent guest. “I stayed in the family room for the first time because all other rooms were booked. Very spacious for families and groups of up to five people, on the lower ground floor, so nice and cool in summer. Almost-private bathroom just down the corridor. Best value for money in North London!”
