How to Live a Restful Life in Difficult Times

Dear Friends,

We hope your New Year is off to a good start!

With so much going on in the world and all the negative news we receive every day through Newsfeeds, televisions, and radios, it is becoming difficult to navigate life.

But in all this, we can’t just wait for tomorrow to be peaceful, secure, and joyful. We must choose to keep living life to the fullest today

But how do we live joyful lives in this day and age? How do we live courageously in a world where fear ‘sells’? Should we bury our heads in the sand and act like everything is okay? Or should we be so focused on the bad that we miss out on the beautiful moments?

Knowing and accepting that human life is fickle and that we need a higher power to guide, protect and provide for us is crucial, especially in these times.

Psalm 23 says that the Lord is our Shepherd. We shall not lack.

In Strong’s concordance, the word shepherd means doctor, friend, teacher, and companion. A shepherd is also someone who protects his sheep from danger.

  • Are you scared of the future?
  • Are you battling with sickness?
  • Wondering how your bills will be paid?
  • Have you been rejected by your loved ones?

God is your all in all. He can be your best friend, for God is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. He will be there for you in good and bad times, and not just that, He will also connect you to genuine friends.

"We have all things and abound; not because I have a good store of money in the bank, not because I have skill and wit with which to win my bread, but because the Lord is my shepherd.” - Charles Spurgeon

We can live life to the fullest despite what is happening around us.

Yes, bad things may happen, and some predictions may pass in 2023. But we should not fear!

Our lives are anchored on the One that cannot be shaken, Jesus Christ! He knows what we need, when we need it and how we can get it.

You can rest in the knowledge that God will provide, protect and guide you in every season. The Lord will cause you to triumph in the presence of your enemies. Even in economic collapse, you will live a comfortable life because God is your provider, and recession has nothing on Him or you.

When pestilences, terror, and destruction come, you shall live knowing that the Lord is your refuge and strength. He is an ever-present help in your time of need Psalm 46:1.

The desire of our heavenly Father in 2023 is that we trust Him.

No matter what we hear, what we see or how we feel, let's come to our good Shepherd with all our burdens, for He has promised to recover our lives and refresh our souls in 2023!
