All Your Dietary Requirements Covered

We love being able to signpost our guests to exactly what they need when they come and stay with us at The Highbury Centre. Many of our visitors are choosing to follow a plant-based or vegetarian diet and we want to support them in that choice.

Our chef and the kitchen team work hard to ensure that everyone has exactly what they need. They do a wonderful job, but please don’t just take our word for it! A recent guest was so delighted with the food she was offered that she took to TripAdvisor to leave us the following review.

“I stayed overnight from Friday evening until Saturday afternoon for a trustees’ meeting. As a vegan, I was a little anxious about what food I’d be provided with (we booked an evening meal on Friday and lunch on Saturday), but I shouldn’t have been worried. The chef was so lovely and looked after me really well. Vegan brownie and ice-cream was a real treat, and Saturday’s lunch was delicious. When the chef announced that it was all vegan (there were seven of us and I was the only vegan), I did wonder what the others would think. It was delicious. Jacket potato, ratatouille, mushrooms in a garlic soya cream sauce and salad. Snacks were also provided with morning and afternoon tea, and dairy-free milk and breakfast cereal was clearly labelled. The staff were great hosts and made us feel very welcome.”

In addition to the food we provide in-house, we are happy to point our guests in the direction of local eateries. For anyone on a plant-based diet, vintage-style coffee shop Blossom White on Stroud Green Road, just a mile and half away from us, offers a delicious range of hot and cold drinks, baked goods and home-made soups, breakfasts and brunches with lots of vegan options. Jake’s Vegan Steaks in Holloway Road, a mile and a half north west of us, is 100% vegan, offering classic Philly Cheezesteaks, sandwiches and fries.

Mildreds was set up just over 30 years ago to offer fresh, exciting and delicious vegetarian food. Now spread over 4 London sites, Soho, Kings Cross, Dalston and Camden, it’s the ideal spot for a yummy veggie or vegan meal.

Whatever you choose to eat, here at The Highbury Centre, we’re on hand to signpost you to the right choices for you. Bon appetit!
