“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

This month is a preparation for big moves, out of the old and into the new. Decide now what you are leaving behind and what you are taking with you into this new season. There are some teachings, understandings from the past must be left by the wayside. Past understandings can only slow you down. God is going to move completely differently in your situation from what you have experienced in the past. It is easier to stay in a comfort zone, in the known. But Comfort can be our enemy number #1. Do not allow old ways to override the new. Let go of what made sense to you five years ago and get yourself retrained for new wisdom, new understandings that will erase the limitations of the past and move you into new.

Be opened to receive what God has got for you. It might look like it is beyond your abilities, beyond your natural talents. God is not looking at what you are capable of, but at how obedient you are to His calling and to His new things. You will be amazed to see what God can do through you during these changes. God does not want you to stay stagnant. Your life could be a stagnant pond or a stream of water flowing freely. Choose a fresh, living water.

Yes, it could be scary to go to unknown. You can’t predict the outcome when change shows up. Many of us are not good with change. But always remember that in the midst of uncertainty, God gives us strength to overcome all the obstacles which could arise on our way. “The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger.” (Job 17: 9 NLT). Change can be hard, but fighting against and resisting change will make your life even harder. Do not look at your limitations, look to Jesus, to the author and finisher of your faith. (Hebrews 12:2)

In April’s Newsletter, we sent you an encouraging word about new doors are set before you. If you have not read it, you can reflect on that as well.

The Highbury Centre News

As we wrote earlier there will be lots of changes. For our team there is no exception. We have 3 members moving on to the new. Of course, we do not want them to go. Who would like to say ‘Good buy’ to the best team members? But because, we want three of them to thrive, so, with a heavy heart, we are releasing them into God’s hands. They are leaving us in August and beginning of September. It is an upgrade for all of them and we are excited for new adventures which are set before. “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28).  We believe all will work together for good and wish them all the best in the new achievements.

Because of all staff changes, we are looking for one receptionist and one room attendant. If you know someone, please spread the news. You can refer them to our website or send them our link. We will be grateful if you do that. Here is the link: www.thehighburycentre.org/about-us/job-vacancies

In the beginning of August, we have upgraded our Booking system. It is not going to apply to all of you, but if our newsletter was sent to your old email address, please let us know. Upgrade is good, but also could bring some glitches in the system. We are trying our best to learn new ways of booking rooms. We could be a little bit slow when you call us. Please be patient with us and thank you for your understanding.  :)

In July we had a very good, but hot summer weather. We had mixture of feelings about it. We humans always do. When it is cold, we want hot; when it is hot we want warm. In Britain people are not used to this kind of weather. Our Guest House as many other B&Bs in this country do not have aircons in rooms. We are grateful that most of our guests were very understanding. Now after a few showers, grass slowly is turning from yellow to green.

We have started recycling. We are trying our best to recycle items where we can. When you visit us, it would be helpful if you could assist us in doing this by putting plastics rinsed out; cans rinsed out; paper and card in the small bins in the Reception Lounge. We cannot recycle food or pizza boxes, or other food containers which absorb food particles.

You are receiving this email because you signed a registration form on arrival agreeing to receive E-Newsletters from us. If you would like to opt out, please click on Unsubscribe Button.

We always highly appreciate if you kindly take a few minutes to give us your impression of our Guest House and any suggestions you may have. It helps us a lot to see where we are and what we can change that you could feel more like at home here. You can do it through Facebook or Trip Advisor, or send us a Feedback Form through the website which is only read by us. Thank you.

We look forward to welcome you again soon!
